Shoden (初傳)- Level 1 Reiki Training

Shoden is the first level of Jikiden Reiki and provides the foundation for your Reiki journey.

​

During this training, you'll learn how to use Reiki to support physical wellbeing, promote relaxation, and bring greater balance to both yourself and others. Alongside learning the authentic history and principles of Jikiden Reiki, you'll receive three Reiju (attunements) and enjoy plenty of hands-on practice, giving you the confidence to begin treating yourself and others from the end of the course.

What You'll Learn

Foundations of Jikiden Reiki

  • Discover the origins and authentic teachings of Jikiden Reiki.

  • Learn the Five Reiki Principles (Gokai) and how they can support greater balance and wellbeing in everyday life.

  • Receive 3 Reiju (attunements) and understand its role in deepening your connection with Reiki.

  • Explore the meaning of the Japanese character for Reiki and the philosophy that underpins this traditional healing system.

Traditional Techniques

  • Learn what Reiki is and how it works.

  • Discover how to give a traditional Jikiden Reiki treatment with confidence.

  • Learn the concept of Byosen and how to identify areas of imbalance within the body.

  • Practise the Blood Rejuvenation Technique (Ketsueki Kokan Ho).

  • Learn traditional Reiki first aid techniques for everyday situations.

Symbols & Practical Experience

  • Exercises for practicing Reiki alone

  • information on how Reiki interacts with the body’s natural cleansing process

  • Learn the first Reiki Shirushi (symbol), what it means, how to use it and when

  • Practical sessions giving and receiving Reiki treatments

Course Information

The Shoden training takes place over two days (10:00am–6:30pm each day) with a one-hour lunch break, at my peaceful healing space in Hackney Central, London (full venue details are provided upon booking).

To ensure a supportive and personalised learning experience, each course is limited to a maximum of six students, allowing plenty of time for individual guidance and hands-on practice.

Upon successful completion of the course, you'll be registered as a Jikiden Reiki Practitioner with the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Japan, receive both English and Japanese certificates, and be fully qualified to practise Jikiden Reiki professionally.
